Immerse the non-stick pan & pots into this warm lite soapy/ citrus water (temperature 50 degree Celsius).

How To Clean Non Stick Pans With Burnt On?

#. Using Warm Water With Washing Soda & Liquid Soap:

The sodium carbonate or washing soda is completely different from baking soda. Washing soda is also widely known as laundry detergent.

This compound is very effective. It not only cleans out not the clothes; but also perfectly removes the sticky burnt-foods from the non-stick pans.

–Required ingredients:

Washing soda, soap, liquid soap, Nylon scrubber.

–Instruction Process:

  • Take a container with enough space; the non-stick pan or pot will be perfectly fit under this container.
  • Place the non-stick pan or pot into this bucket, and fill it with hot water. Must check that the pan or pot is wholly submerged under this hot water.
  • Now mix 1 or 2 tablespoons of washing with the hot water; keep it as it is for 30 to 45 minutes.
  • Finally, pull out the skillet from the container & clean it with normal water & a sponge pad.
  • It will totally take out the burnt-on foods; that stick with the pan base.
  • Lastly, use a few drops of gel soap & softly rub with a nylon scrubber.
  • Wash it and see how the pan fully comes in its previous recondition state.

Warning!!! Never use boiled water here.

Because boiled water with washing soda may hurt the Teflon coating. But, this procedure applies to other types of nonstick-skillets.

#. Lemon Juice & Hot Water:

The lemon is acidic by its nature, which contains citric acid. This fruit is also well familiar as a natural home cleaner. It’s an alternative to vinegar. Lemon helps to break down the grease or fats & create fatty acids.

–Required ingredients:

Half (1/2) cup lemon juice, boiled water, regular dish soap

— Instruction Process:

Actually, this cleaning procedure is a quiet bit similar to vinegar. But it’s slightly different.

Fill the skillet with boiled water, or you can directly boil the water into this burnt pan.

Add two tablespoon to half cup lemon juice (based on nonstick pan diameter size) into it. Leave it for 25 to 35 minutes.

Now you will see two things-

The oily grease components are floating on the top.
2nd, few fats are broken down into fatty acids.

The burn foods already loosen their grip from the nonstick surface. Use any wooden or silicone spatula, gently rub on the nonstick pan base.

Use any regular water & thoroughly wash the pan.

Lastly, scrub the whole pan inside, outside & handles, with regular dish soap & soft scrubber, and clean it with regular water.

Disclaimer:

If your pan burnt from the outside & the exterior wall/ base contains very old sticky greases, then this technique might not help you.

Check the vinegar water soak method or ACV method. It is another most effective solution for these types of problems.

#. Apple Cider Vinegar:

You might think cleaning a nonstick pan with apple cider vinegar (ACV) costs you extra money. But my friends, it’s not true.

You need 1/3 to 1/2 cup of ACV to clean inside- outside sticky burned food & oil elements.

Apple Cider Vinegar2

The ACV contains acetic acid; it entirely dissolves the grease elements & cooking dirt. The other positive side it has, it can kill many types of bacteria (source).

–Required ingredients:

Take Approximately 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar, 2 to 3 pieces of paper towel, or a thin cotton cloth.

The cloth must be big enough that it can fully wrap the non-stick pan.

I have used here biodegradable grocery bags  (Please check the picture).

— Instruction Process:

If you are using the paper towel, then wholly wrap the nonstick-pan except handles.

Slowly effuse the ACV on the pan inside, as well as an outside area. Make sure each & every portion of the paper towel must be eventually wetted.

I always use either a biodegradable grocery bag or thin cotton cloth; therefore, immerse the fabric into the apple cider vinegar & fully wrap the non-stick skillet.

Keep it as it is for 3 to 4 hours. I generally prefer for an overnight.

Now you can wash the pan; moreover, use a nylon scrubber & few drops of gel soap for better cleaning.

Pro tips for cleaning thick baked on grease from the bottom of the non-stick skillet!!!

Take a flat base plate, pour the excess vinegar on it. Place the vinegar wrap pan on it; keep it overnight.

Make sure the exterior bottom is submerging under the vinegar. Next morning you will see, all greases will be fully broken down & don’t stick on it.

Now clean it as it is.

#. Sea Salt Method:

The Sea salt method is beneficial to pull-out burned foods from the non-stick pan. But, at the same time, it has some limitations.

If the sticky grease exists on the skillet wall, sea salt might not help you very effectively, especially on the outside.

But, if the interior portion of the pan only contains burned food & oil elements, only sea salt might be proven to be an effective solution.

–Required ingredients:

I table spoon of salt, hot water.

— Instruction Process:

Immerse the pan under the hot water, or you can fill the skillet base with hot water. Please keep it for 10 minutes; use any silicon or wooden spatula gently scrub on the pan base.

Now flash out the hot water and sprinkle a tablespoon of salt on the pan base. Must check each & every portion. If it contains sticky cooking dirt, it must come in contact with the salt. Place as it is nearly 2 to 2.5 hours.

Now wipe the pan with fresh water.

#. White Vinegar Soak Method:

White vinegar also contains acetic acid.

If you are trying to wipe out old stubborn grease elements & burned food residues from your nonstick pan surface & bottom areas; then this is the best technique for this solution.

Sprinkle Baking Soda and vinegar on pan

Vinegar is also widely used as a natural home cleaner. 100% vinegar may hurt the Teflon coating; that’s why we will use its diluted forms.

–Required ingredients:

Two cup of vinegar, big container, nylon scrubber & 1 liter hot water (not boiled, approximate temperature 50C to 60C).

— Instruction Process:

  • Take the hot water, mix the vinegar, and pour it into a container. The container size must be more significant than the pan diameter.
  • Submerge the nonstick skillet under the hot citrus mixture.
  • Now leave it overnight.
  • After 4 to 6 hours, pull out the pan from the container & rub it with a nylon scrubber. It will entirely wipe out the sticky grease & burned cooking residues.
  • To get the maximum effect, use liquid soap & thoroughly scrub the pan once again with a nylon scrubber.

Alternative method!!

You can try the ACV method the replace the apple cider vinegar with regular white vinegar.

#. Baking Soda With Warm Water:

Sodium bicarbonate is also well known as a natural household cleaning agent.

It entirely cleanses the burned sugar & cooking dirt from any types of nonstick pans.

Moreover, if you use it on bare aluminum cookware, it might leave a reaction mark.

Sprinkle Baking Soda and vinegar on pan

So, don’t try this on hard anodized nonstick pans. Consequently, it undamaged the other types of nonstick pans & pots.

–Required ingredients:

1 table spoon Baking soda, hot water, Vinegar is optional

— Instruction Process:

You can use baking soda in the two most effective ways to rinse the burned food dirt.

Wash the pan with hot water, or you can immerse into it for 5 to 10 minutes. Sprinkle one tablespoon of baking soda above the food residues.

After 1 or 2 hours later, scrub the pan with a nylon scrubber and wash it.

Method no 2 is slightly different; but, it’s more effective than the 1st one.

Take a 1:1 tablespoon of baking soda & white vinegar mixed it uniformly. Apply this rinse paste on the cooking residues & burned on grease areas.

Now place it for nearly 2 hours. Finally, swab the pan with a nylon scrubber, and wash it.

#. Using Toothpaste:

You might be surprised, tooth-paste is a perfect rinse agent.

That wipes out the grease stains not only from the cookware but also from the clothes even.

non stick pan cleaning usingToothpaste

–Required ingredients:

Regular toothpaste, nylon scrubber.

— Instruction Process:

  • Pore toothpaste on the pan surface. Uniformly coated the whole pan with toothpaste. You can use a sponge & gently rub the toothpaste on the pan surface and back-side.
  • Place it for 10 to 15 minutes, use a soft synthetic scrubber & rinsed it under the flowing water.
  • This is the easiest & quickest way to wipe out sticky grease stains from ant nonstick skillets.

#. Use Coca-Cola To Remove Sticky Burnt On Foods & Greases:

The cock is acidic by nature, containing phosphoric acid. It not only cleanses the cooking dirt & rust stains from the cookware. But, also use for cleaning the marbles & tiles.

Warning!!!!!

Not recommended for Teflon coated pans. But, it doesn’t hurt the ceramic, granite non-stick coating.

–Required ingredients:

One liter of coca-cola, soft scrubber, wide mouth bucket

— Instruction Process:

Place the non-stick pan on the bucket & fill it with coca-cola. Please leave it as it is for 2 to 3 hours.

Use any soft scrubber & rub the whole pan. It will completely pull out the burned foods & dissolve the greases.

Wash the pan with flowing water.

Tips For You To Care Your Non-Stick Pan So They Last For Longer Time:

The nonstick-pan can last longer for 7 to 8 years, especially the granite & ceramic coated pans.

But If you properly treat the Teflon pans and season them properly, they will stay fine for five years.

Tips for you!

  • Never preheat the Teflon pans at a high temperature. Overheating can damage the coating. Always prepare a meal at either low or in medium heat.
  • Please don’t submerge the hot pan under cold water or wash it with normal water. Due to the sudden sink of construction metal, it damages the non-stick coating grip.
  • Many brands committed their non-stick (whether porcelain or Teflon) pans are entirely safe under the dishwasher. But, never use a dishwasher to clean any types of nonstick-cookware. It will damage pan durability.
  • Never try metallic spatulas or any other hard kitchen utensils on the non-stick surface.
  • Always use nylon or any other soft scrubber to wipe out food residues.
  • Never chops vegetables on the non-stick surface. Otherwise, that pan will be left with scratches.
